Sync and update a fork with the upstream master commits with GitHub Desktop

Stanislav KhromovStanislav Khromov

Unfortunately GitHub Desktop does not provide this functionality in the GUI, but you can perform the following steps to accomplish this in the terminal:

git fetch upstream # Fetches updates from upstream (original repo)
git checkout main # or master for older repos
git merge upstream/main

Now you can use the button in GitHub Desktop to sync the changes with your fork!
